I just signed up for hosting with LAMP Host. Now what?

Welcome to LAMP Host! Our 'Getting Started' FAQ's will help to get you on track logging into your account, uploading your site, setting up email, and more.

Control Panel

One of the first things you will probably want to do after signing up with LAMP Host is logging into your account and browsing the Control Panel. You can visit the Control Panel at any time by visiting http://www.lamphost.com/Control_Panel/ and logging in with the username and password you chose when creating your account. Should you forget your password, simply click the 'Request Password' link on the login page, and instructions to reset your password will be sent to your email address.

The LAMP Host Control Panel is comprised of three main sections: Account Manager, Site Manager, and Domain Manager. The Account Manager allows you to edit your Contact and Billing information, while also allowing you access to view all your previous payments and orders. The Site Manager is where you will manage your websites and their email addresses, mailing lists, MySQL Databases, and custom error pages. The Site Manager also contains statistics regarding the usage of your site. Finally, the Domain Manager allows you to manage any domains you have registered through LAMP Host, including editing your WHOIS Contact information, enabling/disabling Domain Privacy, and changing your DNS Nameservers.

DNS Nameservers

Note: If you purchased your Domain Name from LAMP Host, your DNS Nameserver settings have already been put in place for you. You can probably skip this section.

If you signed up for hosting at LAMP Host, but your Domain Name is registered elsewhere, you will need to set up your domain's Nameservers to use LAMP Host for DNS. For more information on Domain names, Nameservers, and DNS see our Knowledge Base page here.

Email

One of the most important pieces of your website and your hosting at LAMP Host is email. LAMP Host provides email hosting, email forwarding, spam filtering, and access to your email via POP3, IMAP, or our web interface. For more about setting up email accounts, checking mail, and sending mail, visit our Knowledge Base page on email here.

Uploading Content

Now it's time to upload content to your website. LAMP Host offers access to your site's files via FTP, or File Transfer Protocol. FTP allows you to upload files from your computer to your site or vice versa. For more information on setting up an FTP account, logging in, and uploading your content, visit our Knowledge Base page on FTP here.
